Air Seychelles appoints Charles Johnson as chief commercial officer

Air Seychelles has appointed Charles Johnson as the airline’s new chief commercial officer.

The national carrier has also appointed Sandy Benoiton as the new chief operations officer.

Mr Johnson joins Air Seychelles from Hong Kong Express where as part of his responsibilities, he assisted with the restructuring of the airline into a profitable regional carrier.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the airline after having worked for airlines in Asia, Australia and the Middle East, Mr Johnson will oversee the commercial aspect of the business including cargo and passenger sales, marketing, revenue management, catering and alliances department. 

A specialist in airline start-ups and restructuring, Mr Johnson also comes with a commitment to innovation and revitalizing the airline.

 On the other hand, Mr Benoiton, a certified airline pilot, has been working for the national airline for 18 years.

Having occupied several key positions within the flight operations department, Mr Benoiton will be responsible for the general operations of the business including crew training, security, regulatory affairs, ground, flight, technical and cabin operations.

“I am confident that with their experience and skills in the airline industry, we will be able to further strengthen our commercial and business operations and successfully drive the strategic plan forward.”

Air Seychelles was established in 1978 and began long-haul service in 1983. The airline currently offers international flights to Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg, Mauritius and Mumbai.

 Air Seychelles also offers more than 350 domestic scheduled flights a week throughout the archipelago, including domestic charter services.
